Connecting industry with sustainable energy solutions
METALDECARB brings industrial companies, clean energy technology providers and sector experts together to accelerate the transition towards low-carbon production. Through collaboration, practical case studies and tailored support, the project helps European industry improve energy efficiency, reduce emissions and strengthen long-term competitiveness.
METALDECARB supports the basic metals and foundry sector (NACE 24), with particular attention to SMEs. It combines industrial energy assessments, technology matching and investment-oriented solutions to help companies improve efficiency and reduce emissions.
The four connected stages
Project-wide outcomes
Industrial and energy expertise comes together across Italy, Austria, Spain and Poland, supported by a wider European consortium. Partners work with companies and technology providers to develop solutions that can be applied beyond the pilot regions.
Industrial decarbonisation is not only an environmental challenge. It is also a question of economic resilience, energy security and Europe’s ability to maintain a competitive manufacturing base.
METALDECARB supports the objectives of the EU’s Clean Energy Transition by putting the energy efficiency first principle into practice, encouraging the uptake of sustainable energy technologies and addressing the non-technical barriers that prevent investment.
