The new regulation, circular economy, digitalisation and key innovations

To set up the landscape, Anibal de Almeida, University of Coimbra, will introduce us to the new Ecodesign regulation and its technological implications. Then, a representative of the European Committee of Manufacturers of Electrical Machines and Power Electronics will provide the latest news in the field of material efficiency and circular economy.

Following this introduction, we will focus on the innovations taking place in the motors sector, with Motor Design Limited, Aurubis and Breuckmann, presenting an innovative 3D copper printing technology and a cast solid wiring project, among others. Sisme Motors will introduce its new line start permanent magnet motor and Wieland will explain the latest developments in the field of fabricated copper rotors.

After a nutritious meal, IFPEN will open the doors of its motor test benches to us for a guided visit.

An update on digitalisation will be offered by Sitech Services, a company with hands-on experience in the field. Two projects will then be presented: Refreedrive, developing rare earth-free motors for electric vehicles and Pyleecan, an open-source software for motors and drives design. Finally, a review of market surveillance needs will be made by a market research expert.
